Ocean Insights, a supplier of container tracking software, said that the proportion of transit delays in major container hub ports in the world remained high in September, mainly due to the tight shipping space. This situation is expected to continue into the fourth quarter.

                                                                                                                                          The transfer delay rate of Busan Port in September was 30.4%, which was higher than 28% in August and 15.2% in the same period in 2019. The transfer delay rate of Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port was 31.8% in September and 34.9% in August.

In Tanjung Palapas Port in Malaysia, the transfer delay rate in September was about 22.7%, in August it was 29.2%, and in September 2019 it was only 13.8%. Port Klang was 28.9% in September and 24.7% in the same period in 2019.                                                                                 

Although the situation has improved, Ocean Insights predicts that the transfer delay rate in the fourth quarter of 2020 will remain at a relatively high level.
