Endeavour names new CFO


Endeavour Mining has announced that Joanna Pearson will be joining the company in the coming months as CFO.   Pearson will join the miner from Deloitte (Canada), where she has been an audit partner for ten years, including six years as audit partner responsible for Endeavour.

Marathon Gold shares gain on drilling results                                                                                                                                             Toronto-listed Marathon Gold’s stock jumped 12% on Monday, after the company reported its latest drill results from the Valentine gold project, in central Newfoundland.
The results are from nine drill holes completed in the new Berry Zone, located in the 6 km long Sprite Corridor.

Power Metal Resources has elected to earn in to a 40% direct interest in the Molopo Farms Complex (MFC) project, in Botswana, by expending $500 000 on exploration expenditure, notably target drilling, this year.   On completion of the earn-in, Power Metal will have an effective economic interest of 50.9% in the MFC project.  The MFC project forms part of Kalahari Key Mineral Exploration (KKME), which is targeting prospective nickel sulphide mineralisation in Botswana.

Decade Resources discovers new mining area
Decade Resources announced a few days ago that it has discovered a new area in Del Norte in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia. This area is called Eagles Nest and consists of quartz veins and associated breccia.

Kennecott delays forces Rio copper production downgrade
Rio said on Wednesday that the Kennecott mine had experienced delays to the restart of the smelter owing to unexpected issues that appeared following maintenance.
The company said that it was working closely with customers to limit any disruptions, and that it was hoping to have the smelter fully operational within the next two months.

Vale: Approval of Serra Sul 120 project to increase production capacity by 20 million tons   Vale stated that the board of directors approved the expansion of the Serra Sul 120 iron ore project in Canaã dos Carajás (PA), Brazil.
